Corona-Virus

The Clinic is Closed

The health and welfare of my patients is always my highest priority.  If I feel at any time that remaining open is not beneficial to them and the community at large I will close the clinic immediately.

At this time, there has been no report of any infected or potentially infected patients or visitors to the clinic.

By continuing to provide acupuncture treatments I believe I can do more good during this crisis by strengthening immunity, decreasing stress and anxiety and otherwise improving general physical and emotional health than by closing the clinic.

Sterilisation & Cleanliness

The standards of hygiene and sterility are very high in the clinic. However we have, of course, implemented some additional safeguards in light of the current crisis. Some simple policy guidelines in place for your safety:

  • All surfaces, door handles etc. are cleaned with alcohol between each treatment.

  • Only one treatment room will be in operation, meaning only 1 patient in the clinic at one time.

  • 15 minute break between patients to allow (i) a complete treatment room sterilisation/ change of all towels and tools; (ii) eliminate patient to patient contact.

  • All towels and acupuncture/ massage tools are single use for each patient.

  • Towels are kept outside the treatment room so there can be no contamination from patient to patient.

  • Toilet & hand-washing facilities are cleaned after every patient

  • All door-handles and surfaces in the entry to the clinic cleaned after every patient.

  • Everyone entering the clinic will wash hands on arrival.

  • Moxa smoke has been shown to reduce airborne contaminants.

  • Ozone generator used to completely deep clean the air & surfaces in treatment rooms twice a day.

The schedule at Genki Clinic is designed for low daily traffic. With 15 minute breaks between patients (as now implemented), there will be little to no contact between patients. Together with the sterilisation measures in place, the risk of infection is extremely low.

Corona Survival Strategies (...coming soon...)

I am currently writing a post on simple strategies (from the perspective of Oriental Medicine) which we can all use to improve our immunity and respiratory health... Click here to receive this by e-mail.
